My interest in nature started with reptiles and amphibians when I was a teenager in the 1970´s. Then came birds, then vascular plants, then lichens, then trees...

In the 1980's I got involved in environmental issues, especially those related to conservation of forests and water ecosystems. 

At the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (1988-2000) I had the privilege to do a lot of public-oriented extension work, and I also headed the research information office at the faculty of forestry for a couple of years.
