Forskning
Jag är intresserad av studenters begreppsutveckling inom analys. Jag har disputerat inom Forskarskolan för matematik med ämnesdidaktisk inriktning vid Luleå tekniska universitet i april 2006. Avhandlingen handlar om studenters hantering och uppfattning av gränsvärdesbegreppet (länk till avhandlingen). Det visade sig bland annat att många studenter saknade relevanta kopplingar mellan allmänna teoretiska framställningar och den problemlösning de ägnade sig åt i kursen. Min fortsatta forskning handlar om dessa kopplingar för gränsvärden, men också andra begrepp inom analys. Jag är också intresserad av lärares påverkan av studenters inlärningssituation för att optimera studenternas skapande av giltiga begreppsbilder.
Undervisning
Jag undervisar i matematik i huvudsak på kurser för studenter som ska bli gymnasielärare eller grundskolelärare, men också på fristående kurser i matematik och på andra program.
