Research within Man & Biosphere Health
MABH is a multidisciplinary research environment with projects in several different areas within natural sciences.
The cornerstones of the MABH research environment are aquatic environments and relevance for society. Much of our research has direct connection to aquatic systems, both human and natural systems. Our research includes for example studies of waterfowl, aquatic invertebrates, microorganisms, antibiotic resistance, ecosystem services, water chemistry, and water purifying techniques. Studies are often done in cooperation with renowned research institutes and business companies, and within knowledge-building projects in developing countries.
The biosphere reserve Kristianstads Vattenrike represents a unique field laboratory for social-ecological research, and we have a close collaboration with the biosphere reserve office and their outreach unit Naturum. MABH has the role as research coordinator for biosphere-related research in dialogue with the biosphere reserve office.
More detailed information about our current research projects can be found under respective research field.
