PMhealth workshop – Psychometrics and Metrology in the health sciences 2021
The 2021 PMhealth workshop in Psychometrics and Metrology in the health sciences will be held as a virtual workshop via Zoom on June 14-15, 2021.
The workshop starts at 09.00 Monday June 14th and ends at 16.00 on Tuesday June 15th (CET/Swedish time).
The international guest of PMhealth 2021 is Prof. David Andrich from the University of Western Australia. Prof. Andrich is an international leader in Rasch measurement since the 1970s, when he developed the polytomous Rasch model. Through a range of theoretical developments that continuously have been implemented in the RUMM software (developed by David in collaboration with primarily Barry Sheridan and Guanzhong Luo) he has continued to advance the field of Rasch measurement and make it accessible to practitioners for more than 40 years. More information about Prof. Andrich and his work can be found here.
The first part of the workshop (Monday, June 14, 2021) commences with a seminar by Prof. David Andrich on the theme Recent error distribution understandings in Rasch measurement theory and the RUMM2030 software. During the seminar, Prof. Andrich will summarize his recent work on error distributions and the Rasch model, followed by a RUMM session focusing on recent developments in the RUMM2030 software.
For those who have not yet seen them, please refer to the following links to some of Prof. Andrich’s recent work that will be covered during the seminar:
Andrich & Pedler J Phys Conf Ser 2018
Andrich & Pedler Measurement 2019
Andrich & Pedler Commun Stat Theory Methods 2019
During the afternoon, there will be additional theoretical presentations related to the Rasch model.
The second part of the workshop (Tuesday, June 15, 2021) will consist of presentations and issues for discussion by and for participants. All participants are therefore encouraged to present and discuss current methodological issues, problem areas, observations or other points of general interest from their outcome measurement related work.
These presentations are expected to contain an initial brief presentation of the issue at hand so that everyone is introduced to the issue. The presentation form is free; PowerPoint may be used but is not required. The presentation is followed by an open discussion where everyone is encouraged to contribute. The aim is that everyone will be able to learn something. Each topic will be given 45-60 minutes, of which the discussion part is expected to dominate. If you have something you wish to present and discuss, please contact Kristofer Årestedt, who is responsible for the program.
