Discover banned books at the library
What happens when a book is banned? Which stories, ideas and perspectives risk being silenced? From 5 to 29 October, you can visit the library’s Banned Books exhibition, featuring works that have been subject to censorship, challenges or bans in various ways. You are welcome to borrow the books on display!

The exhibition is part of Banned Books Week Sweden, an initiative by Swedish PEN and the Dawit Isaak Library in Malmö that aims to keep the conversation about freedom of expression alive and safeguard everyone’s right to read. Books are one of our most important tools for spreading thoughts, ideas and knowledge. When a book is banned, access to the perspectives it conveys is also restricted.
