Grading system

Kristianstad University uses a criterion-referenced grading system, based on learning outcomes with a three-grade scale as principal rule.

The scale used for each course is established in the syllabus and is marked on the transcript of record and degree certificate with a footnote.

Swedish grades are normally awarded on a basis of 3 grades for complete courses (always established in the syllabus):
Pass with distinction (VG or Väl godkänd)
Pass (G or Godkänd)
Fail (U or Underkänd).

or the following 4-grade scale:
5 (five) excellent
4 (four) very good
3 (three) pass
Fail

For courses offered to international students, there may be an exception/alternative from fall 2017 (always established in the syllabus):

A  Excellent
B   Very good
C  Good
D  Satisfactory
E   Sufficient
F   Fail

The scale used for each course is established in the syllabus and is marked on the transcript of record and degree certificate with a footnote.
