When you, as a student, delete (retrieve your exam / collect your original) your exam answer, it is permanently removed both for you as a student and for the institution.
In summary, you as a student are responsible for saving a copy of your exam answer before you "retrieve your original" if you wish to access the information at a later stage, regardless of the reason.
You can easily save a copy of your exam answer by downloading a PDF file that is saved locally on your personal computer or another device.
