Deferment of studies for admitted students
An admitted student may apply for a deferral of studies which may be granted if there are particular reasons.
In the regulations of the Swedish National Agency for Higher Education, it is stated that special reasons for deferral of studies may entail social, medical, or other special circumstances, such as care of a child, student union commitments etc.
If you are admitted to Kristianstad University and wish to apply for a Deferment of Studies you must accept your offer as stated in the admission notice.
When should my application be submitted?
The application for deferring your studies should be made no later than the date when the programme/course starts.
Do I have to accept my admission to the programme/course?
When admitted to a programme/course and wants to apply for a deferment you must accept your offer as stated in the admission notice. However, you shall NOT register to the programme/course.

Tuition fee
Please note! You have to be admitted to a programme or course to be eligible to apply for a deferment. In order to be admitted to a programme a student who is applying and is liable to pay tuition fees must pay their student fees by the date set out by the university.
