Formal complaints
We want to make it easy for you to raise concerns and complaints. Our approach is that issues are best resolved through dialogue between those directly involved. Often, they are the result of misunderstandings or matters that can be resolved quickly.
If you experience a problem in your education or have raised an issue that you feel has not been addressed, you can submit a formal complaint using the form.
For guidance and support regarding complaints, you can contact the Student Representative through the Student Union. Membership of the Student Union is not required. You can also send an email to the University's officer responsible for complaints.
How a formal complaint is handled
When you submit a formal complaint:
- The case is formally registered and investigated in accordance with administrative law principles.
- A designated group handles the case. The group consists of representatives from the Student Union, the Department of faculty- and student support and the persons concerned.
- You may be contacted if additional information is required.
- If a person is identified in the complaint, they will normally be given access to the information and an opportunity to respond.
- Once the case is complete, the university makes a decision and informs you and any other party concerned.
You may choose to remain anonymous. In that case, the university will investigate the matter based on the information available, but will not be able to provide you with feedback on the outcome.
If you submit a complaint verbally to a university employee, it will be documented in an official service note.
