Degree certificate

When you have completed your studies you can apply for a certificate. Certificates are issued by the qualifications section at the Academic Administration Office. All certificates are bilingual, i.e. written in Swedish and English.

From 1 April 2024, the university will only issue digital degree certificates. The degree certificate consists of a PDF file with an e-stamp.

Certificate

  • If all courses to be included in the certificate were completed before 30 June 2007, you must apply for a qualification pursuant to the 1993 System of Qualifications.
  • If you began your studies before 1 July 2007 you have the right to be issued a qualification pursuant to the older provisions up to and including 30 June 2015.
  • If you completed your studies after 1 July 2007 you have the right to be assessed under the new provisions.
  • If all courses in the qualification were completed after 30 June 2007, you must apply for a qualification pursuant to the 2007 System of Qualifications.

Sharing of degrees

Anyone who has a degree issued at a Swedish higher education institution* can share information about their degree with any recipient (e.g. an employer). Sharing is done by retrieving a control code and communicating it to a recipient, who can use the code to access information about the degree and its content.

For more information about sharing of degrees.

*Sharing of degrees is possible for those who have their degree registered in Ladok, which is the study administration system used by most Swedish higher education institutions and colleges (parties in the consortium). It is also required that the higher education institution that issued the degree has activated the sharing function in Ladok for students.
