Preparing to apply for degree certificate
When you have completed your studies it is time to apply for a qualification from the higher education institution where you took your final credits. You apply on the Student portal or use the document Application for Diploma Degree Certificate under related documents.
Before you apply:
- Check your data on the student database LADOK on the Student portal.
- Check that studies, placements, MFS and similar from abroad have been added to LADOK. If anything is missing or incorrect, contact the school in question.
- Check that grades and the date grades were awarded are correct. If something is incorrect, contact the school in question before you apply.
- If courses from another university are to be included in your certificate, you have to enclose certified copies of degree, course or enrolment certificates in both Swedish and English, since the certificate is in two languages.
- If you want to include courses from other education institutions you may have to provide course syllabuses and reading lists.
- Courses with shared content (overlap) may transferred to one qualification, counting the number of credits that remain after deduction has been made for the overlapping content.
- If you have changed your name or personal identity number and this hasn't been registered in LADOK, you have to enclose a birth certificate from the Tax Agency with your application.
After applying
You will receive an email (to the email account registered in Ladok) when your degree certificate has been issued. After that, you can download the degree certificate yourself via Ladok for Students (via login with BankID or Freja eID+).
The degree certificate has an e-stamp, which means that it cannot be changed after retrieval from Ladok. If the degree certificate needs to be verified, it can be uploaded to Ladok's page for verification. It is also possible to verify the e-stamp via Adobe. Information and instructions regarding e-stamped documents and verification are included with your degree certificate.
Appeal
If your application for a certificate is rejected, you can lodge an appeal with the Appeals Board, Instructions on how to appeal are provided when your application is rejected.
