Higher Education Diploma according to the 1993 system of qualification
A Higher Education Diploma is awarded after completed course requirements totalling at least 80 credits, of which at least 40 credits for one subject, while the remaining courses are elective. For a Higher Education Diploma, studies at the 40-credit level are required in the main subject.
Higher Education Diploma according to the 2007 qualifications ordinance
A Higher Education Diploma is awarded after the student has completed the courses required to gain 120 credits, of which at least 60 credits must be within the main field of study for the qualification, including an independent project (degree project) for at least 7.5 credits.
