Later stage of a programme
You can apply for admission to a later stage of a programme if you have academic qualifications that are equivalent to the first semester or semesters of one of our programmes. Admission to a later stage is subject to availability for both the spring and autumn semesters. Applicants can be admitted as of programme semester 2.
Switch to Kristianstad University
You can apply for a later stage of a programme on programmes that have places available. This means you do not apply for the first semester of the programme, but for a later semester. If there are places available, an assessment will be made of the results you have achieved in your previous studies.
Requirements for admission to a later stage of a programme:
- There has to be a place free.
- You have to meet the basic eligibility requirements and the specific eligibility requirements applicable for the first semester of the programme.
- You have to essentially meet the requirements for courses included in the programme up to the semester for which you are applying.
- You have to make sure your application is complete and contains documentation of previous studies in such a way that your previous studies can be assessed.
- One of the courses you will be taking has to start in the current semester.
- Admission to a later stage of a programme can only take place from programme semester 2 at the earliest.
How to apply
You apply for a later stage of a programme by using specific application codes/links: see further down on this page. Therefore, you should not use the usual application code for the programme, as this relates to an application for semester 1.
You must also upload course syllabi and lists of literature for all the courses you want to be included in the assessment of your eligibility for the programme for which you are applying. Course syllabi must be uploaded in full. Documents containing links will not be accepted. If you have studied abroad, you must also attach an official transcript from the university (see universityadmissions.se for details). These documents must reach our Admissions Service by the closing date for applications. Important dates (antagning.se).
Your documents have to be uploaded via Antagning.se by the closing date for applications. How to upload (antagning.se).
How places will be allocated
If there are not enough places for all applicants for admission to the later stage of a programme, applications will be ranked on the basis of the highest number of academic credits completed by the closing date for applications. If applicants have otherwise equivalent qualifications, selection may also be based on the Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test, other tests and interviews. Lots may then be drawn if applicants have otherwise equivalent qualifications. Late applicants will be ranked after all applicants who applied on time, and the merit rating will be based on the date on which the application was received.
Unfinished courses from other higher education institutions cannot be completed at Kristianstad University.
You will not receive student finance for credits earned.
