A smoke-free campus
Smoking is not allowed in the entire Kristianstad University campus area.
We refer smokers to our new smoking areas. There is a smoking area between building 6 and the bus, as well as a smaller one behind building 5, see the information boards.
The decision is an adaptation to the Tobacco Act (2018: 2088) which came into force on 1 July 2019. At that time, smoking was banned in several places outdoors, for example in outdoor cafes, outside entrances, on platforms and on playgrounds. The requirements for selling tobacco and similar products were also tightened. The purpose of the law is to reduce the damage of tobacco use. The decision is also in line with the university's environmental and health profile.
