Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

The aim is to strengthen inclusion in education, research and other areas of everyday practice. Kristianstad University already works with gender mainstreaming and its Equal Opportunities Plan. The EDI Policy will complement these efforts with a proactive focus on training and activities. In practice, this will include workshops, lectures and panel discussions, as well as identifying the areas where initiatives can have the greatest impact.

The policy can therefore be seen as an educational and strategic tool for implementation, aimed at preventing discrimination, increasing understanding of differences, and equipping our students and staff to thrive in diverse teams.

Implementing the policy also contributes to the development of generic skills and critical thinking among both students and staff.

The policy also emphasises the importance of collaboration through what is known as the Quadruple Helix, in which higher education institutions, businesses, the public sector and civil society work together. The aim is not only to develop knowledge in the field of EDI, but also to disseminate it and create benefits for society.
