Fire emergency procedures
Information for those present at Högskolan Kristianstad.
In the event of fire and evacuation
RESCUE and assist anyone in immediate danger. If your own knowledge or ability is insufficient, seek help. If possible, close doors and windows to reduce the spread of fire and smoke.
ALERT and WARN by pressing the fire alarm buttons. The alarm is automatically sent to the emergency services. The emergency services can also be contacted by calling 112. The alarm is an order for immediate evacuation. Bells and sirens will sound, and fire doors held open by magnets will close.
If possible, confirm the alarm by calling 112, as this allows the emergency services to receive additional information about the situation.
EXTINGUISH the fire if you judge that you can do so without unnecessary risk. Stop the attempt if there is any danger to personal safety.
Firefighting equipment such as fire extinguishers, fire hoses, and fire blankets are placed in strategic locations, as indicated on the evacuation plan.
EVACUATE
For your own safety, discontinue any damage control or other measures in time and begin evacuation. Evacuate using suitable marked escape routes. Always choose a smoke-free route and always evacuate via stairwells. Lifts must never be used as an evacuation route.
Teaching staff must ensure that no one remains in the classroom.
PROCEED TO THE ASSEMBLY POINT
Everyone must go to the assembly point (the gravel area between buildings 4 and 7) and remain there, awaiting further instructions from the fire officer. Report immediately to the fire officer if anyone is missing or injured.
