Multi-Factor Authentication – MFA
As an employee at Kristianstad University, you need to use an app on your mobile phone to confirm your identity and be able to log in to the university's system when you are outside the university's network, so-called two-factor authentication.
This is what you need to do to activate two-factor authentication on your mobile:
- Download the Microsoft Authenticator app to your mobile.
- Open a web browser on your computer and go to mfa.hkr.se and log in with your username and password to register your mobile phone. Click on "next" when prompted for additional actions required.
- Now open the Authenticator app on your mobile and add an account by clicking on the + sign and selecting Work or School account.
- You will now be given two choices, either scan a QR code or log in with an activation code. We recommend that you choose to scan the QR code as it is much quicker and easier.
- Scan the QR code that appears on your computer with the Authenticator app to add the account. Click on Authenticate me or Complete activation on your computer.
- You will now see a request on your mobile to approve your login (you may also need to enter your screen lock code, touchid or faceid if you have set this on your mobile).
- Now the two-factor authentication is activated and ready to use. You can test the function by logging back in to mfa.hkr.se on your computer and then authorising the connection via your mobile.
