UN Global Compact and PRME

Environmental and sustainable development are integral parts of the operations at Kristianstad University. Since 2016, we have been members of the UN Global Compact and PRME (Principles for Responsible Management Education), two international networks aimed at creating a more sustainable and equitable society.

Kristianstad University has additionally been participating in the PRME Champions working group since 2018. In 2024 Kristianstad University was appointed for the fourth consecutive time as PRME Champions.

Global Compact

Since 2016, Kristianstad University has been a member of the UN Global Compact, a global network of companies and organisations from around the world. Membership means that we actively work towards conducting our operations in a sustainable direction. We also commit to adhering to ten principles related to human rights,  labor standards, the environment, and anti-corruption.

PRME

The Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) is a voluntary UN-based initiative for the development of responsible and sustainable business education, launched in 2007 which Kristianstad University has been a member of since 2016. Through seven core principles, PRME focuses on contributing to a sustainable society by engaging business and management schools to equip today's students with the knowledge and ability to make a difference in tomorrow's society.

With more than 800 members worldwide, PRME has become the largest organisational link between the UN and higher education institutions in the field of management.

PRME Champions

The Faculty of Business at Kristianstad University is actively participating in the global network PRME Champions. For the fourth time, we have been appointed as Champions which means we take an active part in  the champions working group committed to actively advancing and developing the university's sustainability efforts and reporting our progress for future sustainable development.

The mission as PRME Champions is to promote thought and action in leadership for responsible business and management education, in line with the UN's global sustainability goals. As a member of PRME Champions, we strive to be leaders in responsible business education and to prepare future leaders to balance economic, environmental, and social objectives.
