Cross-cultural Communication Competence
Meeting people from different cultures can be really interesting, often with funny surprises and sometimes serious shocks. These encounters can lead to what we call "culture clashes", which usually fall into two main categories: language clashes and cultural clashes. In this summercourse, we will look at both, giving you the essential skills to handle and sort out these intercultural challenges.
About the Summerschool
We'll be using these tools to help you develop effective strategies: paying attention, focusing your perception, sharpening your reflection, and using your intuition to explore and understand different cultural perspectives; improving your ability to accurately interpret cultural cues; encouraging thoughtful consideration of your own cultural biases and experiences; and cultivating an instinctive understanding of intercultural dynamics. Master these strategies and you'll be all set to boost mutual understanding and make the most of collaboration in both academic and everyday settings.
