Kristianstad's IoT specialisation aligned with my interest in electronic hardware.”
Runan Wang, a Chinese student pursuing a bachelor’s in computer science and engineering at Kristianstad University, shares his journey.
"Kristianstad's IoT specialisation aligned with my interest in electronic hardware."
Before coming to Sweden, he completed a pre-bachelor programme in China to bridge educational gaps. Passionate about computer systems and electronic engineering, Runan spends much of his spare time experimenting with computer networks and microcontrollers.
– I chose computer science due to limited English-taught options in electronic engineering. Kristianstad's IoT specialisation aligned with my interest in electronic hardware, says Runan.
The most rewarding aspect of his studies has been learning academic research methods, crucial for his future master’s degree. He gained valuable knowledge in computer networks and programming for embedded systems, applying it during a one-year internship amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Don’t hesitate to contact your teachers, faculty members or university staff if you encounter any problem or need any assistance. They are always available to provide help."
Runan greatly values the easy access to professors and lecturers.
– Don’t hesitate to contact your teachers, faculty members or university staff if you encounter any problem or need any assistance. They are always available to provide help.
Looking ahead, Runan has already been accepted into a master's programme in embedded systems.
– I plan to learn Swedish and explore part-time work opportunities during my continued studies.
