Throughout the programme, you will encounter professional life in several ways. Through guest lectures, industry-related projects and work integrated learning, you will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge in practice and build valuable professional contacts.

The programme includes 7.5 credits of work-integrated learning (WIL), giving you the opportunity to apply your knowledge in a professional setting and gain a better understanding of working in the field.

Projects are also an important part of the programme. You will work with different methods for systems development and develop your ability to plan, carry out and present projects, both independently and as part of a team.

Career opportunities

With a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, you will gain broad expertise in the development of software-based systems. After graduation, you can work in both the private and public sectors and in different areas of software and systems development.

You will gain knowledge in areas such as programming, frontend and backend development, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data engineering, DevOps and cloud-based development.

After graduation, you may, for example, work as a:

Different paths within software and systems development

Software and systems development covers a wide range of areas and tasks. Depending on your role, you may, for example, develop user interfaces, build backend systems and services, or develop software for cloud-based environments.

The programme's broad foundation in computer science and systems development gives you opportunities to continue developing your expertise and specialise in different areas of the field.

Further studies

After completing your Bachelor's degree, you can also continue your studies at master’s level. Kristianstad University offers a One Year Master Programme in Computer Science, specialisation in Machine Learning for students who wish to deepen their knowledge further.
