Do you want to be a part of the technological revolution that is changing our world? Do you want to learn how to develop and program small computer-based devices and make them communicate with each other in large and small networks? Study the Bachelor programme in Computer Science and Engineering and contribute to the connected society of the future!

In today's increasingly connected world, the Internet of Things (IoT) is revolutionizing the way we live, work and interact with our environment. As a computer engineer with expertise in IoT, you will be at the forefront of this exciting technology, helping to design and build systems that drive the IoT revolution forward.

A programme that prepares you well for working life

The education will give you the skills and knowledge you need to succeed in this fast-paced and constantly evolving field. You will learn to program in different languages and gain knowledge about the latest technologies, including sensors, microcomputers and wireless communication protocols, and learn how you can use those to develop innovative IoT solutions.

Part of the programme consists of projects where you work with your fellow students in small and large groups. A way of working that is similar to what you will encounter in real work environments where you learn to collaborate and communicate effectively with others, dealing with challenges and take responsibility for driving the project forward. These are valuable skills that you will benefit from no matter what career path you choose after graduation.

Programme contents

The Bachelor programme in computer science and engineering is perfect if you want to take your interest in hardware and software development to a higher level. During the education, you will learn to program in the most popular languages on the market, including Java, Python and C. You will learn to integrate the physical world with software in a completely new way by combining mathematics and sensor technology in an engineering way. This gives you the ability to create solutions that increase efficiency and accuracy for all kinds of applications.

Broad education

The education gives you the opportunity to explore and program a variety of devices, equipped with sensors that allow them to perceive their environment, and network themselves. You will receive a comprehensive computer science education that covers everything from the basics of programming to more advanced techniques for building and managing IoT devices.

Programme based on the needs of the labor market

The Bachelor programme is strongly rooted in the region's tech industry. We have a close dialogue with the labor market to be able to offer an education that meets the needs of the IT industry.

During the program, you will encounter the business industry through work placement, guest lectures and projects where you collaborate with companies in the local area. This gives you the opportunity to apply your skills, gain practical experience and make valuable contacts.

Great career opportunities

After graduation, great career opportunities await you. As a graduate in computer engineering with expertise in IoT, you are sought after in the labor market and can for example work as an:

  • IoT developer
  • IoT consultant
  • Product manager
  • Technical architect
  • System integrator

No matter which direction you choose, you have the opportunity to work with the latest technology and be part of a fast-growing industry. More information about the professions and work placements.

After graduation, you also have the opportunity to continue your studies for a master’s degree. You are guaranteed a place on our master programme in computer science.

Study abroad

As a student at Kristianstad University, you have the opportunity to study a semester abroad. Studying abroad is a great way to broaden your horizons, gain new experiences and make lasting contacts with people from all over the world.

Contact the program director for more information about the opportunity to study abroad.
