The Bachelor Programme of English: Language, Literature, Society is for students interested in learning more about the construction, literature, and cultural contexts of the English language.
About the programme
The programme comprises three years.
English I, English II, and English III are given in the first, third, and sixth semesters of the programme. The courses contain modules on linguistics and literature, and modules focused on societal and cultural aspects as well instruction in both oral and written proficiency.
In between these semesters, you will study courses in English focused on history, communication, and culture, and a course in creative and critical reading and writing.
The fifth semester of the programme is an elective semester, and here you may have the opportunity to study abroad at one of our many partner universities, or to study elective courses in the programme, other elective courses at Kristianstad University, or courses at other universities.
English III, in your sixth semester, is when you will write your bachelor thesis on a topic chosen in discussion with your supervisor.
Career and master's studies
This programme will give you both broad and specialised knowledge and both oral and written communicative abilities. These are competences in high demand with many employers. You are also well prepared for continuing your studies at master's level.
