Doctoral Studies

Doctoral studies comprise of four years of full-time study (240 credits) and ends with a doctoral degree. It is also possible to finish the education with a licentiate degree after two years of study (120 credits).

Kristianstad University offer Doctoral studies only in Swedish and in two scientific fields; Educational Practices and Person-Centredness for Health and Well-being.

Admission

To be admitted to Doctoral studies, you must first apply for, and be granted, a vacant Doctoral position at the university. Available Doctoral positions at Kristianstad University are announced under vacant positions.

Requirements for admission

In order to apply for admission to a third cycle study programme, you must meet the general entry requirements. A potential candidate meets the general entry requirements if they have been awarded a second-cycle degree or has the requirements for courses comprising at least 240 ECTS credits of which at least 60 credits were awarded in the second-cycle, or has acquired substantially equivalent knowledge in some other way in Sweden or elsewhere.

In some subject areas you must also meet the specific entry requirement according to the general study syllabus for the subject in question.
