MEAL - Food and Meals in Everyday Life
The goal of the research environment is to be an internationally recognized actor in Food and Meal Science, promoting a sustainable and healthy society through interdisciplinary and deep expertise. Food and Meal Science is a multidisciplinary field based on three, individually, strong scientific areas. These are:
- Food Science
- Nutrition and Health
- Food Culture and Communication
The work within the research environment MEAL aims to develop and strengthen the uniqueness and the integration of the three scientific areas, through a strong and sustainable research environment providing solutions and understanding of challenges in the society. It is of importance to generate and communicate new knowledge. A further aim is to maintain and increase the interest of Food and Meal Science in the surrounding society.
In combination, the three scientific areas of Food and Meal Science build MEAL into a unique and interdisciplinary platform of knowledge at Kristianstad University.
