PMhealth workshop - Psychometrics and Metrology in the health sciences 2023
The 2023 PMhealth workshop in Psychometrics and Metrology in the health sciences will be held at Kristianstad University on June 14-15, 2023.
The workshop starts at 13.00 Wednesday June 14th and ends in the afternoon on Thursday June 15th.
The international guest at PMhealth 2023 is Karl Bang Christensen from the University of Copenhagen (Denmark), where he is Professor of Biostatistics at the Department of Public Health. Karl has longstanding experience in the field of multilevel modelling and latent variable measurement across a range of fields, including health outcomes measurement. Among other things, he is known as one of the co-editors of the book Rasch Models in Health. He has also made significant methodological contributions in the field of measurement, including work on local dependence in the Rasch model. More information about Karl and his work can be found here.
In addition, we are pleased to announce that Ann-Sophie Buchardt from the University of Copenhagen (Denmark) will deliver a special workshop on Rasch measurement using R and Rstudio.
The first part of the workshop commences with a seminar by Karl Christensen on the theme Local response dependence: consequences, analysis, interpretation and modelling on Wednesday afternoon, June 14. During the morning of June 15, Ann-Sophie Buchardt will continue with a workshop entitled Rasch in R. In preparation for this workshop, Kristofer Årestedt will give a brief session with a basic introduction to R will be provided at the end of day 1. This session is primarily intended for those who have no or minimal experience with R but wants to take active participation in the Rasch in R workshop.
The second part of the workshop will consist of presentations and issues for discussion by and for participants. All participants are therefore encouraged to present and discuss current methodological issues, problem areas, observations or other points of general interest from their outcome measurement related work.
These presentations are expected to contain an initial brief presentation of the issue at hand so that everyone is introduced to the issue. The presentation form is free; PowerPoint may be used but is not required. The presentation is followed by an open discussion where everyone is encouraged to contribute. The aim that everyone will be able to learn something. Each topic will be given 45 minutes, of which the discussion part is expected to dominate. If you have something you wish to present and discuss, please contact Kristofer Årestedt (kristofer.arestedt@lnu.se) who is responsible for the program.

Tickets can be purchased at “Skånetrafiken” ticket machines in the arrival hall at Copenhagen airport.
If you are traveling from other parts of Sweden, the easiest way to get to Kristianstad may either be by air into Copenhagen airport (see above) or by train to Hässleholm and change to a local regional commuter train to Kristianstad (about 30 minutes from Hässleholm). Information and booking of trains are available at: www.sj.se (or www.sj.se/en for the English version of the website).
Travel and accommodation are not included in the registration fee but needs to be arranged by participants themselves. The following accommodations are recommended based on experiences from previous workshops:
Quality Hotel Grand (by the central station): www.nordicchoicehotels.seAnna’s Hotell (close to campus): http://annashotell.se/
