Ulrika Olsson Möller
Ulrika Olsson Möller defended her doctoral thesis at Lund University in 2014 on dizziness and fall prevention among frail elderly people living at home. She investigated risk factors for dizziness and falling, the ability of fall risk indexes to predict falls, , older persons' experiences of living with chronic dizziness, as well as the effects of preventative home visits on falls and fall injuries.
Research
Ulrika graduated as a licensed physiotherapist in1996 (Lund University). She has worked in the fields of orthopaedics, medicine and rehabilitation within inpatient care (Ystad, Trelleborg), municipal care and elderly social care (Höör, Lomma, Eslöv), and in specialised palliative care (Helsingborg). She received her Master's Degree from Jönköping School of Health and Welfare in 2007, with a paper about home-living elderly people's view of physiotherapy in the home. Today, she works as a senior lecturer on the Nursing Programme at Kristianstad University, where she teaches and supervises at first and second-cycle level.
After her thesis defence, she received a postdoctoral position at the Institute for Palliative Care in Lund, where she conducted two projects concerning physiotherapy initiatives within palliative care, as well as wishes and priorities among people within specialised palliative care. Today, she works with Marlene Malmström (Nurse, Doctor of Medicine, Lund University and Region Skåne) on the RE-SCREEN study, investigating optimal screening for rehabilitation after primary breast cancer surgery.
She is also involved in MoTFall ("Modern Technology against Fall Accidents" MoTFall), which is a project financed by Vinnova, with the aim of preventing fall accidents using modern mobile technology. At Kristianstad University, she is part of the research environments PRO-CARE and People-Health-Society (MHS).
