Living costs
Before you travel to Sweden it is very important that you have made arrangements for enough money to cover your tuition fees and living expenses. Please do not expect to find a part-time job to cover these costs.
Living expenses vary depending on personal needs. However an estimated cost of living per month for a student in Sweden could be:
Food: SEK 2200
Accommodation: SEK 3300
Course literature: SEK 550
Other: clothing, leisure, telephone etc.: SEK 2450
Total SEK approximate 8500
NB! The maintenance requirement for people applying is at least SEK 450 per day. Please see updated information under "Requirements for receiving a visa for studies, research or as a doctoral exchange student" at Swedish Migration Agency.
You can find more information and examples of living costs on the Study in Sweden website.

Payments for rent etc. are made via bank transfer. If you don't have an account, you can pay in cash at the bank or at the post office. Be aware that you will have to pay a fee.
