Academic writing

In the Writing guide you can learn more about academic writing and how to improve your own writing.  

The Punctuation Guide helps you use punctuation marks correctly, so your writing makes sense and is easy to understand.

The Collins Dictionary is a free online dictionary and thesaurus.

Reading academic articles is a resource developed at the University of York containing strategies for reading the most common form of academic literature. 

Writing references provides information on why you should reference and how to write and manage your references. 

Academic writing in English is an online resource for academic writing in English developed at Lund University 

Academic Phrasebank is a general resource for academic writers developed by the University of Manchester. It aims to provide you with examples of some of the phraseological nuts and bolts of writing organised according to the main sections of a research paper or dissertation. 

Linking/transition words in English language is one area you will need to master, as you are writing.  

Study strategies

Guide to studying effectively. In this guide you can learn more about for example staying focused, reading strategies and how to study effectively on distance. The guide is developed by Stockholm University.

Marina Bergman - Academic Studies in Sweden: Effective Study Skills and Habits This book is filled with questions, answers and practical exercises concerning study habits, time management, motivation and much more. It is primarily written for first-year students and international students at Swedish universities.
