Makerspace
Makerspace is part of the Academic Skills Centre – a creative space open to all students. Here you can explore, build, and learn together with others.
Welcome to the Makerspace – a place for curiosity, creativity, and community!
Here you, as a student, can explore both technology and textile crafts, regardless of prior experience. This is a space for those who want to try something for the very first time as well as for those who already have skills and wish to further develop their ideas. Try 3D modeling, program in Python, create with electronics, or explore crocheting, knitting, and sewing. With us, you can learn at your own pace, share ideas with others, and be creative in an inspiring environment.
What can you try or create?
Right now, we offer opportunities in both tech and textiles:
๐ ๏ธ Tech: 3D modeling & printing · Python/C · Raspberry Pi & Arduino
๐งถ Textiles: Crochet · Knitting · Sewing
Activities this fall
๐ ๏ธ Open Makerspace (drop-in)
Mondays at 16:00–17:30
Come and create freely in an open and relaxed environment – beginners and experienced makers side by side. Bring your own project or join something already in progress – there’s room to experiment, get advice, and be inspired by others.
๐ก Inspiration talks and workshops
During the semester we will host short lunch lectures and hands-on workshops.
๐งต Re-Makerspace – Reuse and Repair
We want to encourage sustainability. During the semester we will explore different ways of mending, reusing, and giving materials a new life – from fixing worn clothes to bringing old electronics back to use.

The Makerspace is located in room 07-323 on the second floor of Building 7.
๐ The activities run during regular term time but not on public holidays.
๐งถ A place for creative recovery
๐ The Makerspace has also created a cozy environment in the student lounge in building 15 – a place for relaxed, creative recovery. Here you can, on your own or with fellow students, take a break from your studies to knit, crochet, play board games, or challenge someone to a game of chess.
Want to contribute or host something yourself?
We want the Makerspace to be shaped together with you, the students! Do you have an idea, a skill you want to share, or a project you’d like to try out with others Maybe you’d like to run a workshop, start a small group, or contribute something creative? You don’t need to be an expert – curiosity and a willingness to explore together with others is enough.
Here are some themes that could fit in the Makerspace:
- Textile reuse and creative sewing
- Smart homes (Internet of Things)
- Posters, zines, and graphic design
- AI and training models
- Storytelling with sound, images, or text
- VR and digital experiences
- LEGO and creative construction
