A Conference on Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, 21th of August 2013
There is an ever-increasing interest among teaching staff at our Universities to develop the pedagogy and the education from the vantage point of their own courses and programmes. More and more discussions are held within the field of Higher Education Pedagogy, at different levels and in different constellations.
- Educational Development has been given a clearer and more prominent role in our Universities and HKR as well as BTH arrange courses in Higher Education Pedagogy so that our teachers may develop their teaching skills and become qualified as teachers in higher education.
- The issue of pedagogical qualifications and their worth in the system has been brought to the fore in the last few years. It is now important to offer teachers at our Universities the possibility to present and publish also on teaching and learning in higher education.
- A common meeting place centring on pedagogy and education is needed where teachers, staff and students can meet and carry these discussions over subject boundaries, departmental bounds and cultural barriers.
This conference offers a possibility for teachers, researchers, PhD students, course- and student administrators, librarians and other supporting staff to meet and share their experiences of teaching at HKR and BTH and their insights about the learning that is afforded or made possible. The objective is to create a forum where we can learn from each other, where teachers' experience, knowledge and reflection is converted into pedagogical qualifications and where the educational and academic development comes into view and is consolidated. We invite both research-based projects and other development projects and best practice.
