Presentation formats
Paper, 30 min
Present a paper for approximately 20 minutes, setting it up as you prefer, and take part in the ensuing discussion of about 10 minutes. The accepted paper is made available to all participants before the conference on the conference website.
Submission is done by extended abstract comprising not more than 1000 words.
Roundtable, 40 min
The basis for a roundtable discussion is an introductory text or other material in connection to the chosen issue at hand, with accompanying suggestions on questions to discuss. This material is made available to all participants before the conference on the conference website. The presenter acts as chair person and opens with a presentation of the issue at hand during 10-15 minutes and thereafter invites the public into the discussion.
The introductory text should be not more than 1000 words, excluding the accompanying suggestions on questions to discuss. The basis for the roundtable discussion can also be presented in the form of a film or something equivalent.
Best practice, 30 min
This format is designed for those who wish to show and tell about some innovation in teaching and learning that has resulted in e.g. more engaged students, better exam results or more fun teaching and learning. Here you can also present new ideas/tools /support systems that facilitate teaching and learning.
The basis for a best practice presentation is a descriptive text, not more than 1000 words, and/or other relevant material - new media are especially welcomed.
Acceptance criteria
All types of submissions to the conference will are peer-reviewed by local reviewers.
The reviewers will take into consideration the submissions':
- Relevance for the conference
- Potential for the promotion of development within higher education
- Distinct question/issue and implementation
- Clear conclusions or reflected reasoning
The review process will be conducted vis-a-vis the desired session type. Deadline to submit an abstract for the conference is the 26/5.
Full paper
Regardless of what type of submission you submit, you can also send a full paper to the conference proceedings. Accepted papers which will be published in the new Higher Education Pedagogy report series, digitally and/or, depending of the number of accepted papers, in book form.
We have no absolute rules for formatting texts when submitting your papers to the conference but should you wish your accepted paper to be included in the conference proceedings there will be a template available here shortly. There is no absolute target for the length of your texts but the scope should be like any scholarly conference paper in your own field.
OBSERVE! This type of submission is peer-reviewed by local reviewers. Deadline to submit a full paper is the 1/10.
Practical information
The programme committees will group the accepted presentations into different parallel sessions according to emergent themes and requested session formats. The programme committee may ask presenters to present their contribution in some other session format than the one initially requested.
All files that make up the basis for a presentation should be sent to the program committee. Send an e-mail to Leif Karlsson, and tick the checkbox "files will be submitted by e-mail" in the registration form.
