Reference management systems
Simplify your research or your studies using a reference management system such as EndNote. Library and Higher Education Development can help you get started.
Managing references with EndNote
To be able to handle references in an efficient manner in your research work, a reference management system can be used. Using such a system, you collect your references in a separate reference library. When you write documents, such as a journal article or a thesis, you collect and paste the references by using certain commands in Word.
It is also possible to easily format the references in a document according to different reference systems, such as Harvard, Vancouver, APA, or according to the instructions of a particular journal. There are both licensed and free programs to use. One of the most common licensed programs is EndNote.
