PMhealth – Network for Psychometrics and Metrology in the health sciences

The idea of PMhealth was born out of a postgraduate and postdoctoral course in psychometrics for the health sciences ran by the Vårdal Institute from 2007 until 2014. The network was formally established in June 2013 in connection with a national workshop in psychometrics at Kristianstad University. Since then, the workshop has been offered annually and since 2021 it is open for international participants. 

Purpose

The purpose of PMhealth is to provide a forum for collegial learning, exchange of experiences and problem-solving in psychometrics and metrology.

Target group

Health science researchers and practitioners with an active interest in the  application of psychometric and metrological methods.

How do I join PMhealth?

The network is based on a closed LinkedIn group. Anyone meeting the criteria of the network target group is welcome to join.

The purpose of the PMhealth listserv and LinkedIn group is to provide a forum for information dissemination and discussions of common interest to the network. 

To join the PMhealth LinkedIn group, you must have a LinkedIn account. Type 'PMhealth' (one word without quotation marks) in the search field and you should see 'PMhealth - Psychometrics and Metrology in the health sciences' in the search hit list. Click on the link to open the group site where you can apply to become a member. Please note that there may be a delay before your application is processed and 'approved'.

Workshops

PMhealth has been organizing annual workshops since 2013. The workshops usually take place in May/June. The workshops are primarily participant based and driven, with a program by and for the participants. An invited international guest speaker is also typically invited. Since 2021, the workshop is conducted in English. Several guest lectures/seminars have been recorded and are available here.
