Kristianstad University, together with our allied partners, the municipality of Kristianstad and Krinova Incubator and Science Park, welcome you to COLOURS Co-lab on the topic FOOD PRODUCTION in Kristianstad University the 1 st of October. Arrival day will be the 30th of September. The CoLab is a part of the conference Spot on food.

The first day aims to share current research of the topic with the Spot on food to gain knowledge and to identify common challenges and collaboration opportunities. After this session questions have been raised to wider explore through the Spot on Food-event.

About the topic

In today's society, we face significant challenges related to sustainable food consumption and production. Climate change poses fundamental threats to both people and ecosystems, and when combined with global crises like the COVID-19 pandemic and the Ukraine war, new conditions have emerged that profoundly affect how we consume and produce food. These changes have resulted in increased food prices, food insecurity, and even shortages, highlighting the vulnerability of the global food system. Addressing these issues through innovative approaches in food consumption and production is essential to finding solutions to these pressing challenges. The key question is how to feed a growing population without compromising the health of the planet and its people, while fostering innovation that is inclusive, equitable, competitive, and sustainable.

By exploring the theme of Resilient Systems through the lenses of Entrepreneurship, Diversity, and Preparedness, this CoLab aims to address these multifaceted challenges and contribute to building a more sustainable and resilient future. Each perspective offers unique insights and strategies that, when integrated, can create robust systems capable of withstanding and adapting to the myriad challenges of the modern world.
