From a one-year master’s to a full master’s degree

After completing your one-year master’s degree in computer science, you have the opportunity to take the next step and continue your studies in Germany. Through our collaboration with Landshut University of Applied Sciences, you can build on your education and work towards a full master’s degree while gaining international experience.

A structured study pathway

You begin by studying the one-year Master Programme in Computer Science, specialisation in Machine Learning (60 credits) at Kristianstad University. If you want to continue your studies, you will also need to take a preparatory course that qualifies you to apply for the Master’s Programme in Computer Science, specializing in Machine Learning at Landshut University of Applied Sciences.

You will then study for an additional year (60 ECTS), including a master’s thesis.

By combining studies in Sweden and Germany, you have the opportunity to both broaden and deepen your knowledge in computer science and machine learning, while gaining international experience.

Practical information

During your studies in Germany, you will take selected courses within the programme, with a focus on machine learning. All teaching is conducted in English.

You will study for two semesters (60 ECTS) at Landshut University of Applied Sciences. The full programme normally comprises three semesters, but one semester is credited based on your one-year master’s degree in computer science from Kristianstad University.

Together, the studies correspond to a full master’s degree, 120 ECTS at advanced level.

The programmes are delivered by two different universities and lead to two separate degrees – a one-year master’s degree from Kristianstad University and a master’s degree from Landshut University of Applied Sciences.

Application

You apply separately to the programme at Landshut University of Applied Sciences through their application portal Primuss. Admission is based on the university’s regular rules and regulations, which means that a place cannot be guaranteed. After completing the Master Programme in Computer Science at Kristianstad University, you meet the entry requirements for the programme.

If you have any questions about the study pathway or the application process, please contact Fredrik Frisk for more information.
