Applied Computer Science for Sustainable Development: One-Year Master Programme - 60 credits
Sustainable development and the UN Sustainable Development Goals are crucial for our future and computer science plays an important role for sustainable development. This programme provides you with the knowledge to handle the Internet of Things, Big Data, wireless communication, cloud solutions, machine learning and security.
Our ambition is to provide you with a wide spectrum of knowledge about technologies required for dealing with future challenges related to sustainable development. You will also have the opportunity to explore some multidisciplinary contexts that are important to achieve the UN sustainability goals, such as eHealth and water management.
An important role in development
Computer science and information and communications technology (ICT) play a fundamental role in improving education, fighting climate change and achieving equity. However, ICT is also important for other aspects of sustainable development. In many parts of the world, ICT facilitates the transformation of the most expensive public services such as education and healthcare, but also supports the economy of low-income countries.
The content of the programme highlight how modern technologies such as mobile applications, Internet of Things, computer mining and computer security, can create solutions that support the global sustainability goals in different interdisciplinary contexts such as eHealth, e-finance and water management.
