What made you choose Kristianstad University and the Master Programme in Computer Science?
I chose the programme for its up-to-date courses and strong industry connections, which are beneficial for future employment. Kristianstad University stood out due to its international environment and appealing location. The city of Kristianstad offers a pleasant climate and is centrally located in Skåne, providing easy access to various places without being as bustling as Malmö.
What did you find most valuable about your education?
The opportunity to meet and collaborate with my lecturers and the privilege of being introduced to diverse cultural backgrounds and meeting students from various majors was incredibly enriching.
Can you share any memorable experiences or highlights from your time at Kristianstad University?
One standout moment was collaborating on a project with a professor from Lund University, which provided invaluable insights and learning opportunities. Additionally, the university's IT fair was incredibly enriching, offering a platform for companies to showcase their work and potential dissertation opportunities for students like me.
Participating in the IT contest at Krinova was another highlight, where I had the chance to engage with industry leaders and expand my professional network. As a recipient of the Swedish Institute scholarship, I had unique opportunities to connect with prominent companies such as Tetra Pak and Axis Communications. Notably, working on my dissertation at Bosch AB in Lund was an unforgettable experience, allowing me to immerse myself in real-world projects and be part of a dynamic team environment.
What skills or knowledge did you gain that you find particularly useful in your professional life?
The professional contacts and network I developed during my studies have been incredibly useful in my career. In terms of IT, I gained knowledge in areas such as IoT, data mining, security, and developing multidisciplinary applications, to name a few.
My degree has greatly influenced my career path, providing me with the qualifications and opportunities to advance in academia. I am currently a lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at Kristianstad University. My future goal is to pursue a Ph.D. and having a Master’s degree from a Swedish university will be instrumental in achieving this ambition.
What advice would you give to current or prospective students about making the most of their time at Kristianstad University?
Make the most of the resources and people around you. Network with companies and take advantage of student privileges that allow you to learn more about the industry and potential employers. Engaging with the university community and external partners will open many doors for your future career.
