Become a patron
How to become a patron at the Kristianstad University library.
If you are a student you become a patron by registering for a library account in the Student portal.
If you are not a student you become a patron by visiting the library. Please bring a valid photo ID.
Your personal identity number will be your library card number. You can find out more about being a patron in the library terms and conditions.
Book loans
The loan period for books is 21 days. You can renew the loan if the book has not been reserved. You can renew up to six times and then the material has to be returned. You are obliged to note the return date for borrowed material. Books marked Day loan must be returned before the library opens on the next working day. When the library is closed, you can return books in the returns box to the left of the entrance of building 7.
Interlibrary loans
Loans of books from other libraries, and the ordering of copies of articles, are arranged for the University’s students and staff. There are no interlibrary loans of books or other material within Kristianstad Municipality’s libraries. There are no interlibrary loans of material owned by the library, even if our own copy is out on loan.
Late return fine
The late return fine is SEK 5 per day per book; for books marked Day loan the late return fine is SEK 50 per day per book. You can renew a loan after a loan period has expired, but a late return fine will be charged to your library account. Patrons with a debt of SEK 100 or more cannot take out new loans or renew a loan. All charges relating to the library can be studied on the library terms and conditions.
Copies of articles
The charge for ordering copies of articles is charged to your library account as a liability. Articles are sent to the address specified for your library account. It is not permitted for the library to send articles in electronic form to the orderer; all orders are therefore delivered on paper.
E-magazines, e-books and databases
The electronic resources provided by the library are available to the university’s students and employees, and you log in with your HKR account. If you are not a student or an employee, you can use the resources via the open computers that are available in the library.
